Thanks to the ABC show on avian flu, lot of people continue to visit this site—400 in the last hour, and it's only 7:30 a.m. PDT. So perhaps I should mention a couple of articles I've done for The Tyee, a Vancouver online magazine, about this subject.
Blogging the Pandemic appeared in June, when I was still pretty new to this subject. Avian Flu Bloggers Growing Alarmed ran in August, when we all getting anxious about the wild birds at Qinghai Lake and the mysterious pig fever that was killing people in Sichuan and Guangdong provinces.
A third article is scheduled to appear later this morning. It's an attempt to estimate likely mortality rates, using the Spanish flu as a rough yardstick. Once it's up, you should be able to access it here.
I strongly recommend that you also visit some of the blogs and expert sites listed in the left-hand column. Most of the people blogging on this subject know a lot more about H5N1 than I ever will—I'm just trying to educate myself.
