From Regnum, a report that Armenian specialists cannot detect H5N1 by humans because of technical reasons.
Aide to the Armenian Agriculture Minister Anushavan Agajanyan stated, that Armenian specialists can not detect H5N1 strain of bird flu by humans because of technical reasons. He said that they still can determine H5N1 by birds through a biological methods, but in the current situation it is not enough, so the Armenian government plans to ask World Bank to grant $4-5 million for bird flu prevention. He added that Georgia asked for $15 million for it.
Agajanyan also stated that he continues to eat poultry products, so he thinks that the panic is groundless, but caution must be preserved. He advised while buying poultry products to ask for special certificate that guarantees that the product was subjected to expertise.
Well, we've been energetically "subjected to expertise" ever since the H5N1 scare began, but I don't know if I'd put all my eggs in the experts' basket. So to speak.
