Via Bucharest Daily News: Airport and border control for bird flu prevention.
Over six hundred people coming from countries where bird flu cases were discovered were checked at Bucharest airports. None of them had symptoms specific to the virus, authorities said.
The executive director of the Public Health Department in Bucharest, Adrian Neacsu, yesterday said that starting on January 13 the institution's experts did not find cases of people infected with the H5N1 virus.
Neacsu said that people who come from Turkey, China, Indonesia, Iraq, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan are given leaflets with information about the bird flu and about [how] they can find out if they have been infected with the virus.
The story also mentions surprise inspections at border crossings to ensure that controls are working.
