Following the report of new cases of Avian Influenza also known as Bird Flu in some states in Northern Nigeria, the Avian Influenza Project in Nasarawa State has started disinfection of poultry farms across the state.
The Nasarawa State Project Desk Officer, Mallam Tanko Abubakar, told reporters in Lafia yesterday, that even though there are no reported cases of Bird Flu in the state, the aim of the disinfection project is meant to prevent re-occurrence.
