In his inaugural speech Lyonpo said that quarantine stations are equally important as the army buffer zones in terms of preventing trans-boundary diseases of plant and animals from entering our country.
He reminded the gathering on the recent outbreak of bird flu in the Indian state of Assam and West Bengal and cautioned against the influx of diseases into the country.
