Venezuela's government says the number of cholera cases in the country has jumped to 111, with more people testing positive after attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic.
Health Minister Eugenia Sader tells the Caracas-based television network Telesur that the patients are receiving treatment and that 27 of them have been hospitalized.
The number of cases rose swiftly Friday. A day earlier, Venezuelan authorities said that 37 people had the virus in the South American nation and that 12 others were hospitalized in the Dominican Republic.
