The number of EHEC disease in Schleswig-Holstein has risen again. As of 2:00 pm Tuesday, 360 persons had confirmed EHEC infections and 120 had confirmed cases of HUS, said the Health Ministry in Kiel.
The EHEC cases are 49 patients more than reported on Monday afternoon, and 5 more who suffer from HUS. Overall, in Schleswig-Holstein far five people have died from the effects of diarrheal disease.
Health Minister Heiner Garg (FDP) said that "the situation in hospitals is still very tight, but manageable." From this week the medical professions in Schleswig-Holstein are reported to also be supported by specialists from other states.
