Via the Daily Times: Four people, including woman, lose life battle to dengue. Excerpt:
LAHORE: The death of four more citizens at the hands of dengue in the city took the dengue death toll to 327 on Monday.
At least four more people, including a woman, died due to dengue fever in various hospitals of the city. The victims included Muhammad Ramzan of Baghbanpura, Shamim Bibi of Jia Bagga, Waqas of Manga Mandi and Sarwar Saeed of Chungi Amar Sadhu. One of the victims died in the Services Hospital while the other three took their last breaths in the Jinnah Hospital.
Meanwhile, several new dengue cases were reported in different hospitals across the province; in the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, Nishtar Hospital, Multan and other hospitals in different cities across the province.
At least 10 new dengue cases were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh on Monday.
Talking to Daily Times, a doctor said that despite the onset of winters, a large number of citizens were still falling prey to dengue in the city, adding that another 125 people had been tested positive for dengue in the city.
The doctor said that the vector-borne disease was expected to subside with the change in weather, however, despite the chill in the atmosphere, the disease was not subsiding, in fact, the number of dengue patients was still on a gradual yet constant rise.
