LAHORE – Post-Graduate Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. Sallahuddin has said that nurses are ray of hope for patients and play pivotal role in the medical healthcare system.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has, therefore, introduced revolutionary steps to increase their salaries and improve their working conditions. Nurses must focus on acquiring further education and training so as to effectively fight against the menace of dengue.
He expressed these views while addressing a function held in connection with the announcement of Asma Kanwal Gold Medal and awareness regarding dengue. MS LGH Dr. M Hassan, Principal Nursing School Ishrat Ishaque and Nursing Superintendent Razia Bano also addressed on this occasion.
Dr. Tariq said that Asma Kanwal Gold Medal would be awarded every year to the first position holder student nurse of second year at Nursing School, LGH in order to tribute the martyred nurse who sacrificed her life fighting against dengue.
