The Centre for Health Protection today warned the public to be vigilant against influenza, as flu activity remains high.
The weekly number of flu virus detections increased from 199 in the week ending April 14, to 442 in the week ending May 12.
The influenza A (H3N2) virus was the most common flu strain in the past four weeks, causing 88% of cases.
There have been 159 cases of intensive care unit admissions, including 92 deaths, involving laboratory-confirmed influenza since January 13.
