El Ministerio de Salud Pública (MSP) y la Organización Panamericana de la Salud/Organización Mundial de la Salud tienen el agrado de presentar el libro Cólera en República Dominicana: lecciones aprendidas a un año de la epidemia. Esta publicación recoge las experiencias de la respuesta ante la epidemia que articuló el MSP con los sectores del gobierno, así como con diversas instituciones nacionales e internacionales y con la sociedad civil.
The Ministry of Public Health and PAHO/WHO have the pleasure of presenting the book Cholera in the Dominican Republic: Lessons Learned One Year Into the Epidemic. This publication gathers the experiences of the response to the epidemic from the ministry and other government sectors, as well as diverse national and international agencies and civil society.
Estas experiencias fueron presentadas durante un taller nacional realizado en noviembre del 2011, donde el nivel central del MSP, con las direcciones regionales y provinciales de salud, señalaron los avances en la lucha contra la epidemia, los retos y las recomendaciones para todo el personal de salud del país.
These experiences were presented during a national workshop in November 2011, where the central office of the ministry, with the regional and provincial health directorates, reported their advances in the fight against the epidemic, challenges and recommendations for all the health personnel in the country.
This is a substantial book of over 160 pages, downloadable as a PDF. I'll try to skim it and report its key findings. I wonder if PAHO has done a similar book on cholera in Haiti.
