Via The Japan Times Online: 78 inpatients, workers infected with TB at Tokyo hospital.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says 78 inpatients and workers have been infected with tuberculosis at a hospital in Ome, western Tokyo.
Ten of them have developed the disease, the metropolitan government said Monday.
Because patients who are likely to transmit the disease are now receiving treatment, the outbreak is unlikely to spread, officials said.
Two inpatients were diagnosed with lung tuberculosis in February.
Among the people who developed TB, a man in his 60s died in April due to the disease.
