Via ABS-CBN News: Dengue downs 181 in Albay.
Health officials have recorded a total of 181 dengue fever cases in Albay since the start of the year, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
The NDRRMC said two out of the 181 dengue patients died as of July 12.
Most of the cases were recorded in Daraga (39) and Legazpi City (31). The rest of the patients were from Camalig (27); Tabaco City (23); Guinobatan (19); Ligao City (10); Oas (10); Polangui (7); Bacacay (4); Sto. Domingo (3); Pioduran (3); Libon (2); and one each in Malilipot, Manito and Rapu-Rapu.
The NDRRMC said provincial health officers have destroyed potential breeding grounds of dengue mosquitoes to prevent a rise in the number of cases.
School officials have also installed Olyset mosquito net in classrooms to protect students from the fever, which can be fatal if left untreated.
