En Guantánamo, está activada la alerta sanitaria por cólera y dengue, según fuentes vinculadas al sector de la salud, aunque el gobierno guarda silencio.
A health alert for cholera and dengue is in effect in Guantánamo, according to sources linked to the health sector, though the government is keeping silent.
Contrario a lo anunciado por medios oficialistas, el pasado mes de Agosto, la infección gastrointestinal no fue del todo controlada en la provincia y se conoce que continúa reproduciéndose en algunos portadores.
Contrary to what official media have said, the gastrointestinal infection was not fully controlled in the province during August and it is known to be reproducing itself in some carriers.
La propia fuente agregó, además, que la epidemia de dengue se encuentra por encima de los niveles controlables, según indicadores del gobierno local, aunque se desconocen cifras.
The same source added that the dengue epidemic is on the edge of controllable levels according to indications from the local government, though statistics are unknown.
