El Ministerio de Salud (MINSAL) promoverá que se extienda el estado de alerta por el aumento de casos de dengue a escala nacional, afirmó Eduardo Espinoza, viceministro de esa cartera de Estado.
The Ministry of Health will act to extend the state of alert over the increasing dengue cases to the national scale, Vice-Minister Eduardo Espinoza confirmed today.
“Entre lunes y martes va a ser convocada una conferencia de prensa para notificar la continuidad de la alerta en los municipios que todavía ameritan tener alerta naranja o amarilla”, expresó el funcionario.
"On Monday or Tuesday a press conference will be held to announce the continuation of the alert in the municipalities that should still have an orange or yellow alert," the official said.
La declaratoria, avalada por Protección Civil, fue anunciada el 17 de agosto y finaliza el 30 de septiembre. El viceministro no aclaró por cuánto tiempo más se mantendrá. Espinoza considera necesario seguir promoviendo entre la población las acciones de limpieza que frenen la cadena de transmisión de la infección.
The alert, supported by Civil Protection, was announced on August 17 and ends on September 30. The vice-minister didn't explain how much longer it would last. Espinoza said it is necessary to continue educating the public about cleaning activity that will stop the infection's chain of transmission.
