The tsunami warning covers the whole north coast of B.C. and the northern end of Vancouver Island. That would include Malcolm Island and the community of Sointula, where my wife and I spend time every summer. I've called a couple of friends there; one didn't answer, but Alexandra Morton, who lives right on the beach, tells me that she and her daughter have gone to higher ground. "We felt it," she told me. "It was a substantial quake."
