Canada: 7.7 quake in Haida Gwaii (updated)

Via the USGS a few minutes ago: M7.7 - 139km S of Masset, Canada 2012-10-28 03:04:10 UTC. Haida Gwaii used to be known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. It's the home of the Haida nation and a spectacularly beautiful part of this country. My wife and I were there four years ago, and I took a few photos that don't begin to do it justice.

Update: USGS has also reported an aftershock of 5.8. CBC News says it was felt as far away as Prince George, hundreds of kilometers inland.
