At least seven people have lost their lives in Baradères (Nippes / Southwest) to cholera during the past 15 days (September 25 and October 11), AlterPresse has learned.
Four of the victims died at the hospital in the city of Baradères and three others in their locality, the first communal section called "Dezobè." These new cases coincide with a resumption of rainfall in the region.
Nearly 200 cases have already arrived at the hospital. Cuban doctors came meantime to lend their support to hospital staff.
In the report of the Ministry of Public Health, 206 people have died in the epidemic in Nippes since cholera's appearance in the country October 19, 2010; 5,606 have been hospitalized and 7,966 cases seen.
