KIRKUK, Iraq's border with Kurdistan region,— Iraqi minister of health disclosed that 15 Cholera cases were registered in the province.
Dr. Majeed Hama Ameen added that the scientific examinations of the cases were made in Baghdad.
He added that the preparations in the province will cover 150 cases, if such case happened.
Earlier, health sources said that no cases were reported till 3 October instant,www.ekurd.net but this week only 45 cases of were registered, but six only stayed in hospitals for strict observation.
Concern over Cholera disease in Iraqi Kurdistan
Meanwhile the European-Kurdish Green organization expressed it is concern on health conditions in the Kurdish region for the Cholera disease that hit Sulêmani city.
It pointed, in a statement, that the lack of services and environmental conditions were the reasons for the disease dissemination.
The disease led to a state of panic among the citizens here, following the death of some people.
The organization called the government to search for the reasons behind this disease and find means to contain it, particularly the sanitation of water.
Cholera in Sulaimaniyah decreases by %30
Number of patients diagnosed with cholera in Sulêmani (Sulaimaniyah) city decreases by %30, the officials of Ministry of Health from Kurdistan Regional Government announced Monday.
Officials from Sulêmani Health Directorate said that the number of patients diagnosed with diarrhea and cholera decreased dramatically.
Previously the KRG Minister of Health announced that the health situation in the city of Sulêmani is under control and we have necessary treatment as we are in constant with the Ministry of Health in Baghdad and the World Health Organization (WHO).
