Via the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines, a news release issued on December 12: DSWD fast tracks distribution of relief goods for Pablo victims.
Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman said over the weekend that the DSWD has organized relief hubs to fast-track distribution of relief goods to families and individuals displaced by typhoon Pablo.
“One such hub is in Trento, Agusan del Sur, which will cater to the typhoon-struck areas in the provinces of Agusan del Sur and the isolated towns of Boston, Cateel, and Baganga of Davao Oriental,” Secretary Soliman explained.
Some blue sheets are part of the first delivery of plastic sheets that DSWD sent the day after through the C130 of the Philippine Airforce. The plastic sheets shield them from the elements. We need to act fast to bring relief to the devastated areas in Davao Oriental, and other affected areas,” Secretary Soliman emphasized.
The DSWD will be distributing 40,195 tarpaulins or plastic sheets. In addition, AUSAID will also distribute 15,000 pieces.
Bunk houses are being built through the cash for work to have temporary shelter for the families.
To date, 125 evacuation centers are still operational and sheltering 23,503 families or 100,690 persons. A total of 163,848 other family-evacuees composed of 690,162 persons are with their friends and relative’s houses and are continuously being provided with relief assistance.
