Effects
State of National Calamity
• On December 7, 2012, President Benigno S. Aquino III placed the country under a State of National Calamity, by virtue of Proclamation No. 522, s. 2012.
Affected Population
• 486,554 families / 5,408,900 persons in 1,926 barangays / 249 municipalities / 37 cities in 30 provinces of Regions IV-B, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, and CARAGA were affected.
• The total number currently being served by 134 evacuation centers is 25,812 families / 116,404 persons.
Casualties
• 714 persons dead
• 1,906 persons injured
• 890 missing
• 110 rescued
Status of lifelines
• Twenty (20) bridges and nine (9) roads are not passable.
• Six (6) areas are experiencing interruption in water supply.
Damaged Properties
• A total of 114,583 houses were reported damaged in Regions IV-B, VI, VII, X, XI, and CARAGA, of which 70,591 were partially damaged and 43,992 were totally damaged.
