Alberta nurse aide sent home for refusing flu shot.
An Alberta nurse’s aide says she was sent home without pay Tuesday, after refusing to get a flu shot.
Diana Lockie says she was one of a dozen workers sent home from the facility where she works in Medicine Hat after she declined a vaccination.
Lockie says she feared the vaccine could exacerbate a painful neurological condition; now she feels as if she’s being bullied.
Lockie and her coworkers are not the only healthcare employees who’ve been penalized for not getting the shot; workers at a care centre north of Edmonton were also banished for the week.
