GOVERNMENT OF THE BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA
COMMUNIQUE
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is fulfilling its duty to keep the Venezuelan people and those of fraternal nations informed about the ongoing clinical condition of President Hugo Chavez.
Following the delicate surgery performed on December 11, Commander Chavez has faced complications as a consequence of a severe lung infection.
This infection sourced from a respiratory failure that has required Commander Chavez´s strict adherence to medical treatment.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its confidence in the medical team attending the Commander President, who have constantly followed the developments in their patient´s clinical case and have paid utmost attention to each of the difficulties as they have arisen.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela warns the Venezuelan people about the psychological war launched by the multinational media network regarding the health of the Head of State, aimed at destabilizing the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and disregarding the people´s will as expressed in the presidential elections last October 7, in order to do away with the Bolivarian Revolution led by Chavez.
Efforts such as these will be stopped cold by the ironclad unity of the Bolivarian Government, an organized people and the National Bolivarian Armed Forces who are all part of the leadership and political ideology of Commander Hugo Chavez.
Onward to victory.
Long live Chavez!
