The outbreak of H7N3 avian flu has expanded to 7 Bachoco-owned poultry farms in Guanajuato, infecting 720,000 chickens that will have to be sacrificed to keep the disease from spreading.

The sick bird were detected in Bachoco farms in Dolores Hidalgo and San Felipe, about an hour's drive from León. Márquez did not dismiss the possibility that H7N3 could spread to other states.Another report, in Spanish, says the neighbouring state of Michoacán is also tightening border checks against the possibility of such a spread.
