Another bird flu case in capital.
Another bird flu case has been confirmed in a poultry farm in Balaju on Monday, a third such case in three days in Kathmandu.
A total of 6,060 chickens were culled and 950 kgs of chicken feed destroyed in the farm owned by Subarna Basnet at Napaltar of Manamaiju VDC-1 after the virus was detected in the farm, said senior veterinarian Narayam Prasad Ghimire at the Directorate of Animal Health.
Altogether, 7,500 chickens were in the farm. A DoAH team is disinfecting the farm, which will continue till this evening, Ghimire said.
This is also a sixth case of bird flu in one and a half months and, overall, a ninth case, in Kathmandu.
