La directora de Vigilancia de la Salud, Celia Martínez, dijo que actualmente Paraguay cuenta con el índice de letalidad más alta del dengue entre los países de América del Sur.
The director of Health Surveillance, Celia Martínez, says that Paraguay currently has the highest dengue lethality in all the countries of South America.
Y reiteró que solamente en tres meses, ya fueron 35 los muertos confirmados por esta enfermedad. Según el último boletín epidemiológico de la mencionada dependencia del Ministerio de Salud, el 82 por ciento de las notificaciones pertenece al departamento Central, así como la mayoría de los casos fatales.
She repeated that in only three months, 35 deaths from this disease have been confirmed. According to the latest epidemiological bulletin from Surveillance, 82 per cent of the reports are from Central department, as well as most of the fatal cases.The report goes on to say that over 65,000 persons have fallen ill from dengue so far this year.
