So on July 16 the total number of cases since October 2010 was 666,450, and the total number of deaths was 8,181. On July 17 the total cases rose by 282, but MSPP reported only 135 new cases that day. Similarly, 8 new deaths brought the total to 8,189.
So these five days saw an increase of 672 cholera cases even though only 491 were reported in the daily tallies. One more person died, on the 18th, and the total deaths now number 8,190.
