Via The Star Online: Teen with Japanese Encephalitis needs help.
The family members of an 18-year-old youth who has been stricken with Japanese Encephalitis (JE) is reaching out to the public to help them get by.
Kosmo reported that Mohd Fadil Mat Razalrol, 18, from Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, is bedridden and depends on a respirator to breathe.
His 24-year-old sister Mastura, who stopped working to take care of Mohd Fadil, said the family was financially strapped.
“Our electricity bill is very high as the respirator needs to run round the clock and my brother survives on a special milk diet which costs RM74 a tin,’’ said Mastura, adding that they fed Mohd Fadil the milk seven times a day.
Mohd Fadil consumes about eight tins of the milk monthly and uses 60 disposable adult diapers a week.
Their mother is a school sweeper earning RM700 a month while their father is a rubber tapper without a fixed income.
