Via The News International: Committee constituted for recovery of kidnapped polio workers.
Wana: The Wraspun tribe Thursday constituted a committee for the recovery of the kidnapped anti-polio workers. The workers were kidnapped in Pang area in the Frontier Region Tank on February 17.
The sources said the Wraspun tribe constituted an eight-member committee for recovery of the kidnapped doctor and his team members.
The committee was constituted after the administration stopped salaries and privileges of the tribespeople and elders.
Six members of an anti-polio team, including Dr Khandad, Siddiqullah, Kalim, Daulat Khan, Amanullah and Minhas, were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on Monday when they were on their way back after vaccinating children.
Assistant Political Agent Khalid Mehmood said salaries and privileges of the Wraspun Bhittani tribe had been withheld under the Collective Responsibility Section of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.
The committee would start efforts for the safe recovery of the kidnapped health officials from today.
