Via The News International: Another 2 kids diagnosed with polio in NWA.
PESHAWAR: Two more children were diagnosed with polio virus on Wednesday, officials of the Health Department said.
Both the cases were reported from the militancy- plagued North Waziristan Agency, where local Taliban headed by Hafiz Gul Bahadur had banned polio immunisation as a mark of protest against the US drone attacks.
Amina, daughter of Mibol, is 18 months-old, is the resident of Toor Tangi village in Miranshah. The second polio victim is Asma, daughter of Saifur Rahman. She is 11 months old and is the resident of Spalga village in Miranshah. Both the children didn’t receive any dose due to Taliban’s ban and failure of the government to reach them.
With these two new cases, the total number of polio tally in the country has reached 217.
