Via GulfNews.com: 12 new Mers cases in Abu Dhabi. Excerpt and then a comment:
Abu Dhabi: The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has reported 12 more cases of the Mers-Coronavirus infection, but the patients are in a stable condition.
The health authority said that the patients are expected to overcome the infection in 10-14 coming days without need for special treatment.
The infection in the 12 patients was confirmed through routine examinations conducted on those who have direct access to patients diagnosed with the virus.
The new cases are confined to hospitals and do not impose a danger to the public, HAAD said.
The Ministry of Health and HAAD reiterated that they are dealing with the current situation with the utmost level of transparency to increase the public’s awareness about the situation.
I interpret this to mean that a dozen healthcare workers who had contact with MERS cases have tested positive, possibly with mild or no symptoms. So they're parked in quarantine for a while.
