The epidemic of haemorrhagic fever in part due to Ebola virus has killed 95 out of 151 cases reported since January in Guinea, according to the latest toll released Monday by the Guinean health authorities and Médecins Sans Frontières ( MSF).
Of the 95 deaths, 52 people were infected, so confirmed by the Ebola virus, said AFP Chief Prevention Division of the Guinean Ministry of Health and Hygiene, Sakoba Keita.
The previous record set on Saturday by the Guinean authorities reported 137 cases with 86 deaths.
MSF also reports, without citing figures, "first" case "patients overcome the Ebola virus and left care centers", including Donka hospital in Conakry.
