Now the KSA MOH English MERS page is actually ahead of the Arabic one. I missed this yesterday because I'm out of the habit of checking it: Dr. Faqih's Statement on the Royal Decree Mandating Him to Undertake Responsibilities of the Health Minister besides His Current Post. The full statement:
Stemming from our wise leaders' keenness on the health of the Saudi citizens, reckoned as one of top priorities in the state, the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, May Allah protect him, has issued a Royal Decree, mandating me [Dr. Faqih] to undertake the responsibilities of the Minister of Health.
On this occasion, I would like to thank His Majesty for this valuable trust bestowed upon me, praying for Almighty Allah to be at expectations and aspirations.
I have shortly wrapped up a visit to the King Fahad Hospital in Jeddah, where I checked upon the health of Coronavirus cases there, including health practitioners and citizens. Also, the supervising medical team has briefed me on the health situation in the hospital.
The good news is that some of the infected cases have been healed, all praise be to Allah, while others are still in critical conditions and still need treatment and consonant follow-up. Out of this responsibility, I would like to affirm that:
First: I and all health practitioners are committed to consonantly community with the society members and brief them on the outcome of the follow-up and review processes conducted by the Ministry of Health (MOH) at present.
Second: I would like also to stress my adherence to the principles of transparency and disclosure with all media outlets and society members, that's to be added to providing them with an easy and smooth access to information because they are sharing the responsibility with us to overcome this challenge. It can be argued that only if correct information is provided, communication between the Ministry and all stakeholders and society members will be accomplished.
Third: I would like, in conclusion, to highlight that the health and safety of the Saudi citizens are topping the priorities of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, who ordered me to exert strenuous efforts to maintain them. Again, I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for this valuable trust, pledging to work hard with all community members to overcome the current challenges."
May Allah help us fulfill expectations and aspirations
