Via 4-traders.com: ONLY RUMOURS NO CORONA VIRUS.
Denying the rumours of detecting several Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases in the Kingdom, Health Ministry yesterday again affirmed that Bahrain is totally free from this deadly virus.
Medical Services Chief at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Dr. Mohammed Al Awadhi rebuffed what has been circulating on social media sites since the previous week, claiming that MERS cases were detected in SMC.
Dr. Al Awadhi asserted that no such cases were reported at SMC, adding that the examinations of suspected cases proved negative. Meanwhile, he added that all suspects were isolated immediately and dealt separately.
"The Symptoms include fever and cough, which could be accompanied by laboured breathing, throat and nasal congestions. These cases are dealt according to the protocol followed while dealing with infectious diseases," he explained.
Providing information about the number of suspects examined at SMC, he added that 352 suspects were examined in 2014 and a total of 593 persons underwent tests since 2013. But none of the cases had tested positive to this deadly virus, he said.
Urging the public to refrain from spreading rumours on social media, Dr. Al Awadhi added that SMC is well prepared to tackle MERS.
