Via News24.com, an AFP report: 4 die from Ebola virus in Sierra Leone.
Freetown - Four people in eastern Sierra Leone have died after contracting the Ebola virus, a health ministry official announced on Monday.
"I can categorically confirm that the Ebola sickness has materialised," said Amara Jambai . "We have on record four deaths".
We're going to have to rely on news reports about health ministry statements, because Sierra Leone's health ministry has no website I can find. The Sierra Leone US embassy site has an Ebola report from March, but nothing more recent. And I don't find anything about the outbreak in the Liberian media. If Guinea's media have any accounts, I'll post them here.
In the meantime, we have anywhere from four to nine deaths in this new outbreak. WHO's five deaths (one confirmed, four suspected) is probably the most reliable.
