Via Arab Times: Hospital holds lecture to educate staff on dealing with coronavirus.
Director of Dar Al-Shifa Hospital Ahmad Nasserallah affirmed that the hospital will continue to implement the weekly education program for the nursing and medical staff as part of their strategy to keep up with the latest developments in the medical field, reports Al-Rai daily.
He said this on the sidelines of a lecture about Coronavirus conducted by Chest Diseases Consultant at Dar Al-Shifa Hospital Dr Mohammad Behzad on Tuesday. Dr Nasserallah said the administration of the hospital has denied rumors about a patient suffering from coronavirus infection in the hospital.
He explained that the hospital has been coordinating with the Ministry of Health to obtain instructions issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) for dealing with the coronavirus infection cases.
Meanwhile, Dr Behzad said the lecture was held to educate doctors, nurses and other staff in the hospital about how to deal with the virus. He revealed that the latest statistics issued by WHO indicates that Kuwait has not detected any case of MERS so far.
Regarding the readiness of the hospital in dealing with coronavirus cases, Dr Behzad said all necessary precautionary measures have been taken. He explained that patient will initially be treated in the Casualty Department, after which he will be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit if the infection worsens.
He added that isolation rooms have also been prepared for dealing with such cases if required.
