Via the Saudi Gazette: 5 genera of MERS found in Kingdom.
Five genera of coronavirus have been registered in the Kingdom and the neighboring countries, announced Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Health Dr. Abdullah Mufrih Asiri here on Saturday.
Asiri attributed the death of some cases and survival of others despite the same treatment to three factors: The quantity of viruses inhaled by the individual, the general medical condition and age of the infected person, and the person’s immunity. The stronger the immunity the more the person can recover and be cured.
Health authorities reported five more fatalities from the MERS respiratory virus, taking the death toll in the world’s worst-hit country to 168. Nine new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
An 80-year-old female, a 67-year-old male, a 55-year-old male died in Jeddah. A 71-year-old male died in Riyadh. A 77-year-old male succumbed to the virus in Madinah.
