Via Awareness Times, a report picked up from the Facebook page of Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden: Not Even Chlorine is Available to aid Kissi People Fight Ebola.
Posted Last Night:- So many Kailahun souls have been lost in the last two weeks to Ebola that it is just unbelievable!!! All over Kissi Kingdom, both in villages and towns, our Kissi people are dying in droves even as the health care services they deserve from the central government's Ministry of Health & Sanitation are dwindling instead of being increased!
It is pathetic that as I type, people do not even have access to CHLORINE (let alone drugs!) in Koindu town let alone the surrounding villages. There are long lines of people trying to secure something as basic as CHLORINE in the fight against Ebola.
Furthermore, the Field Hospital with Isolation Tents that were promised to be installed in Koindu by MSF, has not yet been installed. Our Kissi people are SUFFERING in Kailahun. Den day suffer oh..!!! These innocent Kissi citizens are dying like FLIES and in my humble opinion, they just do not deserve this. But God will judge us all.
I am also so very sad tonight over death of wife of Paramount Chief Musa Ngoumbuklah Kallon II of Jawei Chiefdom, Kailahun who passed away from Ebola infection few hours ago. At least nine (9) Daru people have died in the last 48 hours including the wife and a child of P.C. Kallon. With Daru teachers also dying from Ebola, all schools have been ordered closed in Daru until further notice.
Finally, I am sad to say the Ebola disease has now been reported in at least three localities in the Northern Province including Mambolo in the Kambia district.
