Via her blog Mens et Manus, Maia Majumder offers us a real treat: Armchair Epidemiology: Exploring MERS. Excerpt:
Yesterday afternoon, I had an opportunity to share some of my work on MERS with Marc Lipsitch’s lab over at HSPH. In addition to discussing data curation and limitations, I presented a few initial exploratory analyses from my most recent MERS research (Slides 13-19). It was a fantastic chance to field questions and garner feedback on the concept before diving in deep!
I’ll be addressing the research topic – as well as the exploratory analyses – more thoroughly in a post later this week. For the time being, you can download the PDF or view the slideshow (slightly modified for sensitive content).
Get out of here and go do as she says. The slideshow is a concise summary of what we know (and don't know) about MERS so far. Now she's going to have to keep updating it as a standard MERS resource, so you might as well follow her on Twitter so you can keep up.
