Via Awareness Times: We have lost Dr. Modupeh Cole to Ebola.
Yesterday, 13th August in the morning hours, news broke that Dr. Modupeh Cole has passed away. He was one of Sierra Leone’s brave and professional doctors attached to the Connaught Hospital Isolation ward for suspected Ebola cases in Freetown.
One of the nurses at the hospital, (name withheld), in a very somber and frightened mood, said Dr. Modupeh Cole was a professional who was very passionate about the welfare of his patients.
“He never wants to see his patients struggling; he takes extra care and shows them love,” she said and started wailing. At this point three of her colleagues came to the scene crying and expressing shock and disbelief.
Another nurse said, “Why is it that we the health workers are dying and no health worker has survived Ebola?, yet we see ordinary patients recover, O! God what is happening?” she lamented.
The situation at the time seemed too unbearable for the nurses to continue the interview as they were overwhelmed with fear and shock.
