It is with a heavy heart that I report the news of Dr. Modupeh Cole's passing. Dr. Cole was unable to continue the good fight. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Sidie Yayah Tunis(Health Ministry)
So far I can't find anything substantive in the Sierra Leonean media (or any others) about this case, but it's clearly significant. After Dr. Sheikh Umar Khan, Dr. Cole is the second senior medical expert the country has lost to Ebola. West Africa's healthcare workers have every reason to be terrified by the disease, and losing your best people to it is worse than daunting.
