Via Yle Uutiset: MFA urges Finns to avoid Ebola-hit West Africa. Excerpt:
The Finnish Foreign Ministry MFA has called on nationals to avoid unnecessary travel to Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. While the Ministry said that it is still extremely unlikely that Finns will be infected by the Ebola virus, it warned that the overburdening of hospitals, transportation and other services in the affected countries could increase the risks associated with traveling in the region.
MFA is also reminding travelers that it could become increasingly difficult to leave these countries because of disruptions to travel connections. So far at least two international carriers - British Airways and Emirates - have temporarily suspended flights to Ebola-hit areas.
Finns who are already in the countries on the Ministry’s advisory list are being advised to follow the guidelines provided by local public health authorities on how to avoid infection and what to do in the event of suspected infection.
