The mystery illness that's afflicting people in American Samoa and Samoa, named Acute Fever and Rash or AFR, now appears to be closely linked to chikungunya virus.
Samoa's Ministry of Health has reported the outbreak has caused two deaths and says most cases have been reported in urban Apia.
Dr Saaine Vaai, a Public Health Physician with the Ministry of Health, says there's still very little known about Acute Fever and Rash.
