Via Novinite: Bulgaria Set to Call Off Swine Flu Epidemic, Second Wave Feared. Excerpt:
Bulgaria's Chief Epidemiologist, Dr. Angel Kunchev, has stated that the Health Ministry will call off the national swine flu epidemic at the end of this week due to a fall in cases of infection.
Kunchev stated that there has been a significant drop in cases of people infected with the A(H1N1) virus and said he expected that the epidemic is over. He added that Blagoevgrad, Gabrovo, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Silistra and Yambol remain the regions in which the swine flu virus is most widespread.
Kunchev concluded that he fears a second wave of swine flu will hit Bulgaria but he added that it is too early to say when or if it will certainly happen.
A 36-year-old man became Bulgaria's 14th victim of the A(H1N1) virus on Tuesday after developing double pneumonia.
