On August 1, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health posted the news that ‘Three Confirmed Cases of Novel Coronavirus Recorded in Riyadh and Asir’.
Since then, nothing—no new cases, no follow-ups on these or earlier cases, nothing about the publications of Dr. Memish, and no interviews with him like those of the Chinese media with Dr. Zhong Nanshan about H7N9.
You would think that such reports would go a long way toward reassuring Saudis and the rest of us about the MERS situation. At this point in a very bad summer, you would think that the smart, rich people serving the House of Saud would realize that no news is bad news.
You would think that, bless your sweet, naïve heart, and you would be mistaken.
