A thought about Saudi hospitals' surge capacity

Via Arab News: Car accidents cost KSA SR13bn. Excerpt:

More than 300,000 traffic accidents occur every year in the Kingdom.

Traffic accidents account for more than 30 percent of bed occupancy in hospitals, said Abdullah M. Rubaish, rector of the University of Dammam and chairman of the supreme committee of the second Traffic Safety Forum.

Given that proportion of hospital beds for accident victims, what would happen to the Saudi hospital system in the event of a serious epidemic—not just of MERS, but of anything?
