The Sultanate has reported its first case of MERS coronavirus, local dailies reported yesterday, quoting Health Affairs Undersecretary Mohamed bin Saif al Hosni as saying.
According to the official, the patient was admitted to a hospital in Nizwa suffering from a chest infection.
Oman is the fourth Gulf Arab country where the strain has been found since it emerged in Saudi Arabia last year.
The statement gave no more details on the case, the first in Oman.The Arabic-language media aren't any better.
