WHO has published an Ebola Response Roadmap Situtation Report for October 31. The basic numbers: 13,567 cases in eight countries, with 4,951 deaths. This is a lower deaths number than the October 29 sitrep, WHO says, "due mainly to suspected cases in Guinea being discarded." Still, it would have been useful to know what the suspected cases did die of: malaria? Lassa fever?
In the key Ebola countries:
Guinea: 1,667 cases; 1,018 deaths. HCWs: 82.
Liberia: 6,535 cases; 2,413 deaths. HCWs: 299.
Sierra Leone: 5,538 cases; 1,510 deaths. HCWs: 127.
This report does not number the healthcare worker deaths.
