Via the KSA MOH Command and Control Center: MOH: '1 New Confirmed Corona Cases Recorded'. This is the fourth new case in four days, and like the previous three it's an expatriate woman in her 20s, not a healthcare worker, in Riyadh. All are in stable condition. The source of infection for the first two is "under review," while the last two are "household contacts."
What exactly is going on here? Young people tend not to get MERS unless they've been exposed in a healthcare setting, or an older family member has contracted it. One possibility might be a large, prosperous Saudi family with a number of domestic workers, or an apartment shared by several single women. When WHO reports on the cases, we may learn some details.
No deaths or recoveries are reported. The numbers are now 13 cases under care, 703 recovered, 1,255 total, and 539 deaths.
