A very illuminating site about the most and least sustainable of the world's countries: Fragile States Index for 2018. It's worth exploring in some detail, especially the comparative analysis, which among other things shows conditions generally improving in Canada and generally worsening in the US.
Finland is most sustainable at #178, followed by Norway at #177 and Switzerland at #176.
We in Canada rank #172, with Australia even more sustainable at #174. (Denmark is #175.) The US ranks #153; the UK is #155.
At the top of the Fragility Index: Yemen, #1; Somalia, #2; South Sudan, #3. Syria, #4; DR Congo, #5. It's not a coincidence that these countries also deal with serious problems in public health.
